School Nursing Team

Our School Nurse Anniya Mohammed visits school regularly to help ensure that your child’s holistic health needs are met while they are receiving education. They support and promote the physical, mental and emotional health of students, as we understand that healthy and happy children get the most of their education.

Care Team

Our Care Team, Julie Rabeche and Rachael Cook, work closely with our school nursing team to provide exceptional care and medical advice to our families. All pupils with medical/care needs have a Health Care Plan, and all staff carrying out any medical procedures have the relevant training to do so. All medicines being kept in school, must be labelled clearly by the dispensing chemist with your child’s name. This medication will then be be stored in our securely locked cabinet. The Care Team liaise with the pediatrician, dietician and wheelchair services, this includes on site clinics where appropriate.

Our school cannot accept any medicines that have not been prescribed by a doctor, nurse or pharmacist.

For further details, contact the Care Team Coordinator, Julie Rabeche on [email protected].

For further information in relation to the work of Bradford District Care Speech Therapy Team or the work of the school Speech Therapist, please contact our Assistant Headteacher Charlotte Bray on [email protected].

The CAHMS team hold half termly online clinics supported by the School Behaviour and Attendance Lead, Assistant Headteacher Jonnie Czternastek, [email protected].

Individual students receive ongoing support and advice from the specialist teachers from the Hearing and Visually Impaired teams as appropriate.

Parent/family support

There are a number of ways in which families can support Beckfoot Hazelbeck and our students. We want our families to understand their child’s life at our school and to feel like a part of our welcoming school community.

The staff at Beckfoot Hazelbeck are committed to offering our families with a multitude of opportunities to meet with other parents and to become involved in school life, this includes coffee mornings, fundraising events and parent meetings.

Parent meetings

Every year parents are asked to attend their child’s Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) review meeting. This vital meeting allows us to review our students EHCP, including their outcomes and provision, as we assess their progress and attainment and and agree to their priorities for the next year. To aid this meeting and any other parent meetings, we can provide an interpreter where needed.

Other parent meetings include: Parent and Carer Coffee Mornings, annual Meet the Teacher events to allow you to get to know your childs class teacher, and Progress meetings, so that you can discuss any of your own concerns or queries.

The Parent and Carer Coffee Mornings offer a supportive environment, and the opportunity for families to discuss services available to them, and topics that support children’s special educational needs, such as positive behaviour, attendance, or sleep hygiene.

Attendance and Family Support Team

The Attendance and Family Support Team, Vicky Ullah and Saika Shaheen work with families to link with outside agencies, including social care, early help service providers and the Bradford Attendance Support Team.

The team may schedule Early Help meetings with your family, providing you with the opportunity to discuss any external support you and your child may need.

For further information and support, please contact our team coordinator Vicky Ullah on [email protected].
